October 1, 2026 — October is a month of deep dives and karmic reckonings. This month, Venus and Mercury both turn retrograde in Scorpio. The planets are leading us into the underworld while asking us to recalibrate our relationships, finances, and desires. Unfinished business, especially in love, may rear its head as anger and unspoken words rise to the surface.

The month opens with an intense T-square between Mercury, Mars, and Pluto, peaking on October 2, just hours before Venus stations retrograde. Shadows are emerging, both within us and between us. Rather than dwell on shame over what we feel, we can honor it. Anger, fear, and grief carry wisdom. As long as we are not causing harm, we can own these feelings and allow them to breathe. What have we kept hidden, even from ourselves? What truth have we been afraid to say out loud?

By the Libra New Moon on October 10, we are ready to begin repairing what was broken, without abandoning ourselves in the process. Both of this month’s lunations are ruled by Venus, who is turning inward. We are reflecting on love and worth for the sake of renewal. Mid-month, Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, stations direct as Mars trines Saturn. What we unearth within becomes the foundation we build upon, and we now have the stamina to begin.

The final third of the month intensifies. On October 23, the Sun meets Venus in a cazimi, clarifying the message of this retrograde. On the same day, Mercury stations retrograde, introducing an even more liminal space. Luckily, a Taurus Full Moon follows on October 26, bringing us back into our bodies.

Collectively, we are recalibrating our values. It is important that we look with unflinching clarity at what has gone wrong, even if it’s uncomfortable. Only then can we prepare for what lies ahead. We are at a potent turning point on every level, with the outer planets compelling us into a significant new story. Honesty is how we begin the process of alchemy as we find a new way forward.

October 2026 TRANSITS

MERCURY T-SQUARE MARS AND PLUTO, MARS TRINE NEPTUNE

On October 2, Mercury in Scorpio forms a volcanic T-square with both Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. As Venus stations retrograde, she soon takes over from Mercury at the apex of this T-square, extending the intensity into mid-month. Conversations may turn heated as old anger erupts. We may feel provoked, misunderstood, or flooded by feelings that we have long kept buried. This is the unconscious making itself known. We might remember that intensity is not a problem. Expressing it without causing harm can be a sword of compassionate truth when handled skillfully. Mars trines Neptune at the same time, offering tenderness and spiritual courage as we face what’s difficult. Are our words true? Are they helpful? And is this the right time to speak them?

VENUS STATIONS RETROGRADE IN SCORPIO

Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, where she remains until November 13, when she stations direct in Libra. Love is turning inward as Venus descends into the underworld. Past loves may return, along with old fears around intimacy, self-worth, and trust. Scorpio asks us to root out what has been hiding in our subconscious. It is uncomfortable work, but it is where real healing begins. Collectively, we are recalibrating our value systems, our orientation toward the feminine, and our relationship to resources and finances.

SUN OPPOSITE SATURN

On October 4, the Sun in Libra opposes Saturn in Aries. We may feel caught between keeping the peace and honoring our own needs. Responsibility weighs on our relationships. We are learning to set boundaries with integrity.

MERCURY CONJUNCT VENUS

On October 6, Mercury meets retrograde Venus. If conflict erupted earlier in the week, this is a beautiful window for apology and reconnection. We can speak openly about our feelings, listening as deeply as we share.

NEW MOON IN LIBRA, VENUS SQUARE MARS

A Libra New Moon forms on October 10, just as Venus squares Mars. With Venus, ruler of Libra, retrograde in Scorpio, we are seeding new intentions for love and partnership from a place of deep honesty. False compromise only delays the inevitable. Where have we been shrinking to keep the peace? What would it look like to honor our differences instead? When we stop abandoning ourselves, passion and creativity return.

MARS TRINE SATURN, PLUTO STATIONS DIRECT

On October 16, Mars trines Saturn just after Pluto stations direct in Aquarius. Obstacles that felt immovable begin to shift. We now have the patience and stamina to build something real. Transformation that has been subtly unfolding for months is finally ready to emerge.

VENUS SQUARE PLUTO

Venus squares Pluto again on October 20, echoing September. This is the second of three passes, with the final square arriving in early December. Power dynamics in love and money resurface. We may confront jealousy, control, or fear of loss. If intensity arises, we can breathe and stay with it. Something important is regenerating.

SUN OPPOSITE CHIRON

On October 21, the Sun opposes Chiron. Old wounds around identity and courage may arise. We are learning to hold our tenderness without shame, understanding that this is where our true strength and wisdom reside.

SUN ENTERS SCORPIO

The Sun enters Scorpio on October 23. A season already steeped in shadow deepens further. We are drawn toward truth, intimacy, and transformation, looking beneath the surface of our lives and surrendering to what we find.

SUN CONJUNCT VENUS, MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE

On October 23, a Venus cazimi forms as she meets the Sun at the heart of her cycle. An old chapter in love closes as a new one seeds. The message of this retrograde is becoming clear. On the same day, Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio, remaining there until November 13. With both personal planets moving backward, we enter a more liminal, auspicious space. Unfinished conversations and past connections may return to be resolved.

VENUS RE-ENTERS LIBRA

On October 25, Venus retrogrades back into Libra, her natural domicile. The Sun and Venus have now traded signs. We are revisiting questions of balance and fairness in our relationships, with a deeper emotional understanding than before.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS

A Taurus Full Moon arrives on October 26, close to Chiron while squaring Pluto. Like the Libra New Moon two weeks prior, this lunation is ruled by Venus, a planet in retrograde, and she sits directly opposite it. Something primal and earthy rises within us—a stark contrast to the cool, technological atmosphere of Pluto in Aquarius. Chiron straddles the line between Aries and Taurus, ruled respectively by Mars and Venus, and old wounds between the feminine and masculine are stirring. What does our body know that our mind keeps overriding? What are we truly worth? Differences that have been hidden now become obvious. This is a breakdown that leads to a clearing.

VENUS OPPOSITE CHIRON

On October 28, Venus opposes Chiron exactly. Wounds around love and self-worth are tender. We can meet them with compassion, allowing old pain to become our path to healing.

MERCURY SQUARE MARS

On October 30, Mercury squares Mars once more, echoing the T-square at the start of the month that elicited conflict, painful truths, and difficult conversations. Tempers may flare and minds may race. We can channel this restless energy into focused work and pause when our thoughts become too loud.

October 2026 ASPIRATION

As we descend into the underworld this month, may we honor our shadows and speak the truth with courage. May we rise again, whole and renewed, ready for the new story calling us forward.
