December 29, 2020 — We end 2020 with a Cancer Full Moon on Tuesday, inciting profound emotional release. It’s time to feel all of our feelings about the year and the previous age in humanity. We can allow the ocean of compassion to wash over us, as we grieve all that we’ve had to let go.

We are culminating an extremely challenging period of breaking old patterns and habits, and moving through ancestral karma. We can heal now by appreciating all that we’ve struggled with, finding ways to love even the most jagged parts.

If we face the feelings that we’re most afraid of, what is there to fear?

We can step into 2021 and this new age in humanity with greater courage, which comes from having mastered Cancer’s lessons of embracing our emotions and vulnerability.

We began 2020 with a Cancer Lunar Eclipse, the Great Mother leading us into a year of hardship and growth. Bookending the year with another Cancer Full Moon, we can look back and see how much we’ve learned about our resilience and deep need for one another. Holding hands, we can now transition from an era marked by selfishness and materialism, into one of great sensitivity and care.

Our revolution will be heart-centered and full of integrity. We each hold the responsibility to make sure it is so. After all, this is an age ruled by the people. We are breaking away from our reliance on the guru, savior, dictator, and monarch. We are stepping into our individual power and direct connection with the Divine, which requires us to listen to our inner child and honor her wounds. We can stand strong, break old habits, and make different choices—choosing sanity, honoring our inner feminine, respecting our own needs, and resisting dynamics that have caused us harm.

From here, we can do the same for others, holding each other accountable like good parents—with the unconditional love and nurturing that Cancer exemplifies, and the unwavering paternal compassion embodied by enlightened Capricorn. These signs have held keys to our evolution this year, as Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto have moved through the last degrees of Capricorn. They’ve helped us clean up old karma and develop greater integrity and stamina.

Meanwhile, the Cancer North Node and the Cancer-Capricorn eclipses of the past two years have reminded us what really matters—not empty achievement at the expense of others, but human connection, heart, and mutual care.

Now, we stand at the finish line of this powerful karmic work. We’ve learned so much, grown up, and have a better understanding of our strength, wisdom, and ability to create what our hearts truly long for.

With Venus on the South Node, we are also wrapping up a journey of purification around our values, interpersonal relationships, and dynamics around money and resources. As we cross over into an electric year of change and liberation, we can carry these lessons with us, making sure that the new paradigm we co-create radiates heart, as we lay bricks for a new world that holds glimpses of utopia.

On this Cancer Full Moon, may we place our hands on our hearts and appreciate the difficult, beautiful work we’ve undergone this year. May we touch the Earth and reach out to those who we love, always remembering what we value most—our beautiful planet and one another.
