August 1, 2026 — August begins in the wake of July’s Cat’s Cradle, with all of the outer planets still forming a significant configuration across the sky. Although it’s made up of harmonious angles, these were not easy energies. Shadows we’ve been suppressing and ignoring have reared their heads to speed up our evolution, and that evolution continues throughout the month.

A Leo Lunar Eclipse arrives August 12, opening the eclipse vortex, while calling on us to joyfully step into the fullest expression of our authentic selves. Wherever we’ve questioned our worthiness or dimmed our light to please others, we’re now ready to take a leap and embody our truest hearts with abandon. After a month of purgation, we now feel lighter, freer, more buoyant, and alive. More honest and less ashamed, and certainly less afraid of ourselves.

But our work isn’t done here. A Pisces Lunar Eclipse forms on August 28, closing out a journey that began in late 2024. Wherever Pisces and Virgo fall in our charts, this is where we’re now wrapping up a long lesson. Meanwhile, wherever Aquarius and Leo fall, we are beginning a new story that will last for a year and a half. Questions are rising around freedom, egolessness, romance, sexuality, creativity, and the courage to be ourselves and fully seen. Shifts in power and leadership are also in the works, and we may notice a changing of the guards amongst those who are most visible.

The more we express our genuine hearts, uniqueness, and compassion, the more we will thrive in this new era. This story isn’t just about us as individuals. We are finding new ways to offer our talents to the world for the benefit of all, to transmute our selfishness into greater compassion as we embrace our interconnection. We’re understanding that whatever we fear in another is something unhealed in ourselves.

Pisces has been helping us come into full acceptance of the messiness of being human, of being infinite spiritual beings participating in the beautiful illusion of separation. Meanwhile, Aquarius implores us to work together for the greater good. The Water Bearer understands the need to rebel, reinvent, break free, and respect each individual’s dignity in order to co-create a more cohesive whole. Aquarius is enlightened society, the pinnacle of human potential, and the seeds of such begin within each of our beaming hearts as we shine without self-doubt and finally shed the deeply ingrained belief that we are not enough. We are perfect exactly as we are, just because we breathe—even if we could all use a little improvement. It's time to embody that more and offer that same truth and generosity to all.

AUgust 2026 TRANSITS

CHIRON STATIONS RETROGRADE

On August 4, Chiron, the Wounded Healer, stations retrograde in Taurus, where it remains until January 6, 2027, deepening a question it's been asking all year: What do we actually need in order to feel safe and secure? We are going deeper into the journey of understanding that we are enough, that we don’t need to reach for more. How do we orient to our lives from here if we start to really believe that and embody it? How do we go further in also healing our relationship to the earth?

VENUS ENTERS LIBRA, SUN TRINE SATURN

Venus moves into her home sign of Libra on August 6, and later that same day the Leo Sun trines Saturn in Aries. This is the first of three Saturn trines this month that quietly do the same work. Saturn here isn’t trying to dim Leo down. Saturn is offering Leo something to stand on. How can we build from our vision and inspiration? This is a rare stretch of clean footing before the eclipse gathers force. It’s good for leadership, for diplomacy, and for beginning or restructuring something we actually intend to see through.

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE

The first half of the month has been building to arrive at the Leo Lunar Eclipse on August 12. Venus, Uranus, and Pluto form a Grand Trine, opened outward into two Grand Kite formations. Every outer and collective planet is woven into this pattern at once. Inside the kites are two very different currents. A Venus-Neptune opposition carries real longing, encounters that can feel fated, and romance that feels mystical. If our hearts have been closed, they’re now ready to soften. At the same time, the Mercury-Pluto opposition challenges how we’ve been thinking and communicating, opening the possibility for both breakthrough and painful revelations.

Most notably, Pluto sits in direct opposition to the Sun and Jupiter, which is the heart of the whole month. Nothing stays hidden here. Whatever we've been concealing is pulled into view for the purpose of evolution and integration. Abusive power dynamics are now exposed and ready to collapse. With Jupiter in Leo, joy and hope are abundant as the shadows reveal themselves, ultimately helping us feel lighter and freer.

MARS SQUARE NEPTUNE

Gentler energies arrives after the first eclipse. Saturn keeps showing up to help. In the early morning of August 17, Mars in Cancer squares Neptune retrograde in Aries, and our energies run thin. We may feel confusion or depletion. This is a time to allow ourselves to rest and retreat. It’s a good day for meditation, music, or taking a bath—something to help us relax in this space of uncertainty.

VENUS OPPOSITE SATURN

By August 21, Venus opposes Saturn, held steady by supportive aspects to Jupiter and the Moon in Sagittarius. This is a sober, yet loving day. It’s a good moment for clarifying a relationship, getting a budget in order, or offering a friend support.

THE SUN AND MERCURY CONJUNCT THE SOUTH NODE

Late in the month, the planets kick back into purgation mode. The Sun conjoins the South Node at the very last degree of Leo on August 22, and Mercury follows at the same degree three days later. This is a release point at the edge of the sign. Whatever the eclipse opened is now handed back in its rawest form. We are ready to let go of the old version of ourselves along with old ways of speaking and communicating. We’re ready to become more authentic and whole.

THE SUN ENTERS VIRGO

The month makes a real turn on August 22 when the Sun moves into Virgo, and Mercury follows three days later. We are transitioning from very loud Leonine energy into Virgo’s gentleness and restraint. Where can we mind the details of our lives and take better care of ourselves? How can we simplify and slow down? And who and what are we ready to serve with greater devotion and humility?

MERCURY CAZIMI, PISCES LUNAR ECLIPSE

On August 28, a Pisces Lunar Eclipse forms across the sky. Earlier in the day, Mercury reaches cazimi at 4°27 Virgo, burning in the heart of the Sun, as clear-sighted as Mercury ever is. Later in the day, the Moon rises full and in eclipse at 4°53 Pisces, nearly opposite the morning's cazimi to the degree, on the same Virgo-Pisces axis that has been quietly running its course since late 2024.

What Mercury sees clearly in the morning, the Moon dissolves by night. Clarity and surrender stare directly at each other. This eclipse doesn't open anything new the way Leo Solar Eclipse did. This is a graduation from something two years in the making, a final release that comes as a great relief. This is a beautiful day for a ritual or retreat. What do we finally understand so clearly that we’re ready to let go? We can look to see which houses the Pisces-Virgo axis lights up in our charts for clues as to what that might be.

JUPITER TRINES SATURN

On August 31, Jupiter in Leo trines Saturn retrograde in Aries, exact to the degree, closing the loop that Saturn opened on the 7th. Expansion and structure work together one final time. Whatever cracked open on the 12th now has solid ground to land on before heading into September. The great chaos of change has containment, and we have a solid plan as we look to the future with fresh eyes and a new flame of hope, creativity, and inspiration.

AUGUST 2026 ASPIRATION

Like the summer sun, may we stop shrinking to please others, wearing our previous struggles and demons as crowns of adornment. As we gracefully release what is finished, may we build something beautiful and lasting in its wake.
