September 14, 2023 — A Virgo New Moon arrives on Thursday, one of the most auspicious and significant ones of the year. The Sun and Moon form a harmonious Grand Earth Trine and Kite aspect pattern, with Neptune as the apex. This dreamy lunation provides a fresh start infused with healing, spirituality, and forgiveness. We are ready to begin anew with greater compassion and love, while cradled in earthy support.

We can now recommit to sanity and self-care, breathing deeply and remembering to trust all that’s unfolding. Our pain and suffering are opportunities to feel—to express any emotion that’s lodged in us as we shed layers that are untrue. We’re releasing our control and the need to understand things with hyper logic or analysis. As we do this, we move into deeper wisdom and flow, making friends with impermanence and the beauty of imperfection.

It’s time to become clear on what we’re calling in. We’ve been in acute purgation for a couple months, with Pluto squaring the lunar nodes. We are witnessing the contractions of rebirth all around. These energies could feel like they’re breaking us. But as we reach our edge, we realize that we are stepping into the next level of depth, transformation, and strength. This New Moon is encouraging us to return to center, our spiritual path, and the desire to awaken to truth.

If we open our hearts and relax with the winds, currents, and tides—staying tethered to the Earth and our bodies—our work is complete. We can repeat this task again and again, not judging ourselves or abandoning hope when we forget. When we lose our bearings, we come back—to the breath, gravity, and the beauty of our planet. If our minds spin or our hearts ache, we can sit up straight and feel our inherent dignity and peace, which exist in us always. We offer our grief and sorrow to the Earth with each step. She happily takes them, transmuting our pain into new life.

On this Virgo New Moon, may we feel the Earth’s loving embrace as we surrender to the tides of impermanence and unknowing. May we conjure devotion for this life, our human body, and each other, seeing grief and heartbreak as opportunities to love more and experience the great magic of pure presence.
