transmuting our shadows

May 5, 2023 — A Scorpio Lunar Eclipse forms on Friday, closing the eclipse vortex—although eclipse season remains in effect for another two weeks. Lunar Eclipses are ramped up Full Moons, which are deeply emotional and relational times that trigger release. Falling in Scorpio, we are dredging up old issues around intimacy, bonding, obsessions, and addictions. Truth is revealing itself and helping us correct course. We’re seeing where we’ve been overcomplicating matters and dwelling in patterns of self-destruction.

After this lunar eclipse, our lives will feel simpler. We’re seeing more clearly any fears or hard truths that we need to transform and integrate. This way we can disentangle from our ruts—karmic relationships that have run their course, unnecessary pain that makes us feel bad about feeling bad, self-doubt that keeps us frozen, and old traumas and storylines that are ready to heal and dissolve. We are freeing ourselves from the past so we can embody more grounded, sensual, practical versions of ourselves that brim with worthiness and self-love.

As we move through this period, it may feel like a portal to the underworld is open, revealing our demons. In the face of this, we could either break down or break through. The idea is to remain courageous, keeping our hearts open to ourselves and each other—even if our shadows are exposed. In doing so, we can navigate this eclipse gracefully, purging ancient material that’s been keeping us from our highest potentials for too long.

Forming a wide opposition to Uranus, the shock of sudden change is now possible. Uranus operates outside the bounds of space and time, sparking instant liberation, authenticity, and multi-dimensionality. We are rapidly becoming more whole, mature, and sincere—more direct and effortless in being who we are.

scorpio lunar eclipse Aspiration

On this Scorpio Lunar Eclipse, may we meet our pain and fear without flinching or closing our hearts. May we remember that everything we perceive is us—If we see a demon, it’s a chance to surrender to a new corner of ourselves, loving and integrating more of who we are.
