December 12, 2023 — The Sagittarius New Moon forms on Tuesday just as Mercury stations. The usual expansion and zealotry of Sagittarius is restrained by the introspection of Mercury retrograde in stoic Capricorn. We are carefully reviewing old belief systems, thought patterns, and frameworks of meaning. While the New Moon is in wide conjunction to Mars, igniting our desire to charge ahead, we need to slow down and carefully break down any obstacles or doubt. We may know exactly what we want, but it’s time to pause and turn inward.

We are in desperate need of clarity and faith. Spiritual, hazy Neptune is squaring this New Moon, and we may experience disillusionment or cloudy thinking. We can rest in stillness and call on meditation, prayer, nature, and earthy simplicity to guide us through the fog. The planets are imploring us to tread mindfully, employing precision and caution as we sort through quandaries.

This is not the moment to plough ahead, cling to rigid beliefs, or forcefully convince anyone of our perspective. If we have a certain desired outcome, we can approach others with intentionality and skill. We would be wise to keep things simple throughout the next lunar cycle as we move through complication, uncertainty, and dimmed optimism, reflecting on which steps to take next.

Looking ahead to 2024, possibilities are endless. However, this is the time to unpack what’s already on the table rather than leaping into future potentials. We can gather patience and discipline, trusting the universe and our unfolding. Deep down, we know that the immensity of our pain can lead to awakening, wisdom, and profound compassion.
