January 20, 2024 — Pluto moves into Aquarius on Saturday in one of the most significant transits of the year, igniting a new era and generation that will last for twenty years. As Pluto begins to fully inhabit Aquarius this year, we are stepping into more egalitarian times without so much resistance. People are rising, revolting against oppression and fascism, and we are establishing fresh norms as we reinvent all facets of life. Meanwhile, we’re ready to come up against the blessings and destruction of technological advancement as invention and innovation soar to new heights.

Pluto moves into Aquarius twice in 2024—on January 20 and November 19. Because of retrogrades, Pluto will return to Capricorn for a few months starting September 1. By November, Pluto remains in Aquarius until 2044. With these shifts, we are breaking down barriers, while fighting for freedom and the reinvention of established norms.

We are more fully inhabiting the Aquarian Age—an age marked by technology and justice. While there’s still tension between the past (Capricorn) and the future (Aquarius), the future is rapidly beginning to take hold. This is the culmination of a long period of epic release and the toppling of old paradigms. We’ve been undergoing the transformation of historical karma and trauma as crises have emerged around systems, structures, and society.

We are now moving into a more progressive era. We will likely see people rising, revolting against oppression, fascism, and needless violence, war, and atrocities, and rebelling against the weight of the past. It’s time to envision the future and become its architects. Technology has the potential to start supporting living rather than dying—offering innovative solutions more than pollution and weaponry. We’re awakening to distorted truths that keep us in brutish, inhumane, and careless habituations.

Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius promises to alter our lives significantly. For anyone with planets or angles in Aquarius, this will be one of the most important transits of our lifetime, transforming us from the inside out. Pluto changes signs once every twenty years or so, and when he moves into a new sign, he begins to activate a different area of our charts and lives. If we’ve been trying to free ourselves of stuck patterns, feeling frustrated as we keep falling back, we could notice we are now making real headway.

Pluto in Aquarius will activate a particular house in our natal charts, calling for total transformation in that area of life. Unconscious material is surfacing for the purpose of looking our demons in the eye and liberating from them. This work is intense but deeply necessary on our spiritual path as we pursue healing and wholeness. We are ready to become multidimensional, intuitive, and egalitarian, considering the whole more than our egos and selfish desires.
